The Emerson/MOTOROLA MVME172P2 series VME Embedded controllers with 2 IP slots allow VME embedded controller users to achieve the cost performance of RISC architecture while maintaining MC68060 object code compatibility. By combining the MC68060 superstandard performance with a wide range of optional features and IndustryPack interfaces, Oems can select the right product for their application, rather than paying for unwanted features.

The new "Petra" application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) replaces functions previously implemented in IP2 chips, MC2 chips, and MCECC chips, improving the performance of the storage subsystem. The memory configuration switch enables users to customize the memory size for applications that require a smaller memory configuration.
